Reading “naked conversations”…

Don’t be put off by the title – this book is about changing conversations between businesses and their customers using a blog as the vehicle.

In this post I’m not going to a physical destination but rather a mental one. It’s to be an adventure in learning. Since I’m new to the blogging world I figured I’d get the book that I’ve heard referenced the most “naked conversations” by Robert Scoble of http://scobleizer.com & Shel Israel.

This is not going to be a high school book review – I left that behind many a year ago. I’d rather like to chronicle my journey through the pages as I glean the tidbits of knowledge that Scoble & Israel have penned. My intent then is to put into practice these little morsels and hope that I’m up to the task.

Even though I’m only one quarter of the way into the read I would like to recommend to those that have already read it to pull it down from the shelf, dust it off and keep it handy. When you have a spare couple of minutes open the book to a random page find the beginning of that section ( most sections are only a couple of pages in length ) and read it. My guess is you will read something that you have forgotten about and can now utilize in your blog strategy or you will find a statement that reinforces a decision or action that you recently made reassuring you that you’re on the right track.

If you haven’t read the book then by all means pick up a copy. It doesn’t matter whether you currently blog, plan to start one sometime soon or maybe have no intention of blogging but are just curious. The book “naked conversations” will be a compass for those that do, an introduction to those that don’t, and a good read for everyone else. Scoble & Israel pour through the history of business blogging and how it has shaped the way we connect and converse with big and small companies alike. Business blogging has influenced you in more ways than you know and this is a good opportunity to read about it from an insiders point of view.

More to come…

– Peace
